The Golden Rule

The world can turn around for the better soon.  Following Donna sample would help:
"Donna shares her thoughts:
“My advice to people or words of wisdom to people is to understand that everything happens for a reason. My dream when I was sixteen was to move to NYC and go to college there. I didn’t have the opportunity, but thank God (or whoever/whatever) because I ended up meeting my best friend, Holly. If I had gone anywhere else I never would have met my soul mate. In the next 5, 10, 15 years I hope that people can start to look outside themselves and start to really embrace the idea of community. I hope I’m still best friends with Holly, happily married, with children – laughing and enjoying life.”
Donna talks of community and of enjoying life.  Where about Tony? Well, Tony in his own way mirrors Donna attitudes on life by saying:
“What I’ve learned is life is not all about me! me! me! We all need to realize that there are other people out there; we need to be patient with each other, many in the same position as ourselves, or having greater difficulties. Good people who are just trying to make ends meet financially and in taking care of their families.”
And then Tony sums it up by saying, “I just try to live by the golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
At this point, if I would have  a question for Tony on this perspective, I would say “So if someone treats you bad, does that give you permission to treat the world poorly?”
“Absolutely not,” he would reply, “You treat others the way you would like to be treated.”
That said, Tony, with the full support of Donna, together summed up that :
“The future, I’d like to see a day where people are simply getting along, not judging each other by race, age, ethnicity, religion, wealth or political view. Just accepting each other for who they are and being able to to either agree or disagree with kindness.”
Happy holidays my friends.
May 2012 bring us all health, happiness, prosperity and Guidance towards what is noble.

The Sauna

The Sauna
For years at some time or another the sauna attracted my attention. Finally back in the 1990 I used one with a friend in her home. The first time was interesting for me to discover first hand that yes, saunas will make you sweat. The second tome the experience was a lot more interesting... I almost fainted but some how my friend noticed me getting close to faint and she opened the door for me to grasp some air an dafter a few moments I was fine BUT scared and well, that was it for my sauna experience for many years till 2010.

In the summer of 2010, I moved up north in the Muskoka cottage country and the cottage I bought was only build for summer use only, so, since my intention was to live there year around, I start to make plans to renovate, insulate and added an additional 500 square feet of space and a garage.

While shopping for a water filtration system, one dealer had some Infrared saunas in his showroom and after making the deal for the filtration system, I casually asked how much one of the smallest sauna was, he say it was close to $3000 and that when I casually answer... if I can get it for $1000, I would be happy to get it at the same time the water filtration system is installed at my new place.

After a moment of reflection he say to me, I am getting away from offering saunas from now on, so you got your self a deal, I will deliver one to your place when we install the water filtration system... this is how I got my self a sauna in my home.

From what I know and what I was told, saunas are found in almost every health club, country club, or spa across the country, now it is in my home as well :-) But, you know what? I soon found out that I really did not know how to use it and some how I was not attracted to use as much since my old memory of almost fainting in my friend home sauna back in the 1990... so I start asking questions here and there, but not comfortable with the answers... so till today, I just used a few times as best as I knew how especially after a couple of hours outside shovelling the snow and a couple of times last year when I felt that a cold was going to appear.

Then these past couple of months, I start using it in the evening after working hard outdoor, helping a contractor who was hired to add another 100 square feet of space inside the cottage, a roof over the outside deck and install a 16 feet sliding door overlooking the beautiful scenery, including the Severn river below, the big natural Muskoka rock right across the river, the ducks, the trees, flowers, wild plants and of course, the birds and other wildlife that show up once in a while to visit.

Getting back to the Sauna, just like myself, I found out that not too many people (the one I asked questions anyway) know what the heck the Saunas are for or know how to use the Sauna properly. When asked, many have answered that it is very helpful for them lose weight. Others have said that it is good to cleanse toxins, others said that is very good to keep their pores open and flexible to sweat more so helping to improve the complexion of the skin. Yet, the small majority have said that it is very good to use a Sauna when we have sore joints, sore muscles and what ever else that may improve our health is some way.

After asking so many people, I found out a funny occurrence and that is; even so almost every gym and other places where people pay to use equipments to exercises have a sauna available for the clients to use it, but no one is really using it.

Does not matter if is a small gym or exercise place, with few or thousands of members, still not many takers. That was strange when I heard it, and after my brief research of why people have saunas and how to use them, I concluded that the main reason why people do not use it is because they really do not know how or why they use it and so they stay away so they do not have to admit that they are ignorant on that subject, just as my self :-)

Well, now I have my own and guess what? I tend to like it an d slowly but surely, I ma getting used to it and do my best to learn more and more of the healthy benefits that the Sauna may bring when used and keep it as a secret since it is a personal choice to use it and personal feeling that may be totally different from what others may experience.

Now that I wrote this blog post in regard to the Sauna, some of my secrets may leak out.. but is fine, it is all good and hope people who read it (like you) will benefit as I do and more.

My believe is that most people who have the opportunity to use a Sauna and they are not, they are missing out a lot, especially in the winter after people work hard outdoor, or all the athletes and those hardcore trainees who use their muscles each and every day. I can make this statement because I felt that I was as guilty as any one above, till I finally bought my own Sauna and start using it almost regularly in cold days especially after a long hard day working outdoors.

Now that I have it at home, I wished that I would have known all this, long time a go and taken advance to benefit more, improve my healthy as much as possible by properly using a Sauna.

In my research I found out that people in the Soviet Union, used the sauna as a very powerful recovery tool. My first thought was, if they have been doing so successful for a long time, why not use it and I too can benefit and recover from any muscle pain. I found out it was not for fun and games. I found out that it served a very important purpose, and even today, probably is one of the most restoration method used in the USSR. It was and it still is, a total recovery program and they have it down to an exact science.

From what I was able to read so far, it is said that because of the successful method the sauna is used, many other specific protocols have surfaced, but that would take to long to list them here so if interested, please go and do your own research according to your needs and probably you can find more accurate information then I could find my self.

Q & A that may assist further.
Since I now have a Sauna, when friends and relatives come to visit, most of them ask questions... they vary and they may not be what you want to ask... but hope that what ever it is written here, will assist you in some ways:

"What do I need to take in the Sauna when entering?"
My recommendation is to take a hot shower before hand and scrub the skin with soap and or with one of those loofah sponges. People from Russia believe this would help unclog the pores of the skin, so allowing the removal of waste and toxins from the sweat much better.
Of course you need a towel or two.. I personally have 3 since I like to take a small one to wipe the sweat from my face often. Some water to drink while in there will helps as well since the sweating can get you dehydrated very fast, and if you have a large Sauna, take another towel, roll it up and place it behind your head if you will be laying down.

"How hot does it need to be to get the most benefit?"
The highest temperature in my Sauna is just under 200 degrees F, and I believe it is what is generally recommended. When I plan to get into the Sauna, I switch it on and go to take a hot shower, by the time I come out, the temperature if high enough and it is ready for me. Most saunas will have a temperature control and thermometer for easy reading and so this may vary... you may have to adjust if necessary... mine is automatically adjusted. If you like to go in when the temperature is at the highest, simply let it heat up and go in when you feel it is time.

"Once in the Sauna, how long should be used for?"
_I use it 20-25 minutes at time but I was told 10-15 minutes is more then enough.
_Have been using it 2-3 times per week.. you have to use it to find out what is best for you.
_After the workout, I believe it is best to use the Sauna after 3-4 hours if possible, in my situation since I use only after coming in from working outdoor in the winter, I use it after about 1 hour or so.
_I read that it is NOT recommended to use the Sauna right after a workout, so be aware!

"What should I do once I am in the Sauna?
Not much, once you have adjusted the temperature and set timer if needed to (mine is automatically set and I just have to sit on the only bench provided and decide when to get in and when to get out), I cannot lay down since it is only 4 feet wide... but if you are using a Sauna that you can lay down, it is recommended that you lay down for the first 3-4 minutes at the bottom step of the Sauna. Then you progress up to the second step. Be aware that the higher up you go the hotter the air will be. After 4-5 minutes in the middle, you can finish off the remaining time (15 minutes max) at the top step.

As I mentioned above, my Sauna have only one seat and it is 4 feet long, and my Sauna is an Infrared Sauna so cannot lay down but it is recommended that if you can, lay down may be more beneficial. So if you are using a large Sauna that can accommodate you laying down... enjoy the extra benefits by I lay on a towel flat on your back, have a rolled up towel behind your head and make certain you do not fall a sleep and get out after 15 minutes. It is said that it is important to lay in a horizontal position because it keeps the blood pressure under control. Another recommendation is to put your feet up high in a vertical position in the last 2-3 minutes in the Sauna. This action may prepare you to walk out of the sauna without feeling lightheaded (Like I did the second time I used the sauna long time a go).

"There is any special benefits of going in the sauna a couple times a week?"
You can make your own research but from what I gathered, it improved recovery from most workouts. Studies suggest that 15 minutes in a sauna provides physiological effects that would take 2 hours of rest to achieve. If an athlete can recover from a bout of training more rapidly, so he or she can adapt more often within the same period than those who do not utilize such means.

Study reveal as well that using saunas properly will stimulate the release of growth hormone. Direct and Infrared heat for 8-10 minutes relaxes muscles and improves local and general blood flow. Saunas reduce the likelihood of neurotic reactions, improve sleep, and normalize metabolic processes. This promotes the excretion of toxins (cadmium, lead, zinc, nickel, sodium, sulphuric acid, and cholesterol) through perspiration and the dilatation of the blood vessels created by the sweating glands. If the toxins are not eliminated, fatigue lingers and affects CNS stimulation.

My personal conclusion so far is;
Get into it as soon as you are able to, give the sauna a try, especially the Infrared sauna. You can come back here in this blog and post a comment, for certain I will be curious to know what experiences you share, and what ever we can learn to improve the experience. My personal belief (after reading so much about the subject of learning) is that; sometimes the smallest positive or negative change or the inclusion/exclusion of of anything new in our life, can ignite a huge change in the long run... if is positive, the pay off will be with big dividends, if negative, well... we may just forget about that and just focus on our positive... correct?

Hello friends and associates (not friend yet?
Please click here and we will change that right
away :-)

Wow! The whole USA is celebrating Thanksgiving
this week (actually the official day as I was told
is tomorrow, Thursday Nov. 24-2011
Why I write this note? I live in Canada and we
also celebrate Thanksgiving but we already did
last month...

Anyway, depend where you live or what you think
of this celebration I like to share with you how a
great time is right now to reflect about all that
we have and what is good in our life at this moment.

If you have a challenge thinking of what is going
well in your life at this moment... focus only of
ONE... "You are reading this and You are Alive"...
that is something to be thankful... "where there
is life there is hope"

I personally have so much to be thankful for. For
starter,I am healthy, love to be connected with
God, my family, friends, associates and I love
what I decided to do for a living as a retired 65
years old chap :-)Live Your Life Today

If for some strange reason sometimes you have
to face a challenge in life, do not get discouraged
and know we all go thought that some time or
another while living this beautiful life on earth.

Yes, sometime we feel that life really sucks... but
hey, we are here now and so lets do our best to
enjoy and make great things happen, with what
we have at the moment.

Not sure what you can do to earn a living, I chose
to work from home as an Internet Marketer, and
feel good about it. You can do it to... please
check this link of mine:Live Your Life Today

Feel lucky today... NOT unlike... you are alive and
you are continuing reading this short note of mine..
hope it will make you smile and make you happy.

I like to share with you that it was not long ago,
I felt unlucky, probably just as you are feeling
now, BUT, I also must share with you that it was
not long after that, I clearly seen that I was not
unlucky at all... I was blessed with the warning.

What I called "unlucky" it was really a great
lesson learned that served me well in many
ways and I learned to be more grateful in
every way... hope you do the same.

Sharing what is good or not good is fine.. it is
healthy as long as we get to understand that all
is passing by...and tomorrow it will be another day.

Yes, life in general and now, by spending more time
working on my Internet Marketing Business, can
make that difference to me... and for sure can make
a difference for you as well.

Talking about Internet Marketing, I finally found
out that it is not easy but by working at it with
honesty and clear goals of where I like to go and
how to get get there, it is helping a lot... so for
this reason right now I love to share with you
that it can be hard, but you can make it as long
as your take care to know why you do it and
how you like to do it...

... when you have any any negative thought come
up or a challenge show up, just remember all the
good things you already have and the things you
have been able to accomplish so far in your life.
If for any reasons that does not work or does not
make you feel better at any given moment... stop
all what you are doing or thinking and focus on
how terrible it would be if all what you have right
now would be taken away... this can be a totally
game changer, correct?

I bet that will not take long for you to smile and
make you feel great and probably make you feel
like a famous King!

You know what I discovered a few days a go...
running a successful business online is not the
easiest thing to do. But even I, this 65 years old
retired bus drive who never went to college or
university, can do it.

Heck only have grade eight and never knew much
anything about Internet Marketing Business before
I start focusing on my business... I know I can do it.
No, I did not earn millions YET, but I am focusing
and I am content for now, to make a great living
and make enough money to live comfortably...
and share the wealth with others in need.

I must tell you, sharing with others in need, make
me feel very, very good because I was on the
receiving end a long time a go (In 1964 to be exact,
when I first come to Canada) and never forgot how
grateful I was to receive... that is one reason why
I understand the feeling and why I love doing it.
All of the above may not be new to you nor,
take you by surprise, but hopefully you will
reflect long enough to know that even regular
guys like me and you can succeed...

BE GRATEFUL for everything that life send
your way... It is all a Blessing from God.

Icthus

"Icthus" is the Greek word for fish. The fish symbol was adopted by early Christians as a secret sign, due to persecution. The fish symbol was chosen because, in the original Greek, the letters stand as an acrostic for "Jesus Christ, Son of God,Savior." An acrostic is a poem whose initial or last letters can be put together to form a word or message.

In the times of the early Roman Christians, followers of Christ were often persecuted for their faith and any outward symbol of their belief could often get them imprisoned or killed. However, for their underground movement, the practitioners needed some means of identifying one another, and for safety they chose a symbol that was not directly associated with their faith. Thus the fish symbol was born.

For the symbol to be a success there had to be some recognizable links with the faith. The fish was said to symbolize the baptismal waters, the loaves and fishes that Jesus used to feed the five thousand, and Jesus’ own declaration to the disciples to become 'fishers of men'. The Greek word for fish, icthus, is an acrostic consisting of the initial letters of five more Greek words, which briefly but clearly described the character of Christ and His claim to the worship of believers: 'Iesous Christos Theou Yios Soter' which translates as 'Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour'.

The symbol of the fish and the word icthus gained a meaning of high significance for those early Christians, and is still recognized as a Christian symbol today. Chromed fishes can often be seen stuck onto the back of Christians' cars, and for some time a chalk fish-mark was used by homeless wanderers to mark the houses of people who could be depended on for charity or for food.

The source of this info was found on a website.. but at the moment do not have the link... contact me at a later date and for certain I will find it for you...

All the best in every way and always!!!

--
By Chris Lopez

It's hard for most folks to believe, but I'm only 31 years old and I have 5 kids. Being a husband and a dad of 5, downtime has become synonymous with family time.

Last week for example, I went to a birthday party with 4 kids in tow while my wife was with our second oldest daughter at a soccer game. At every party, I get asked by every other adult, "How do you do it? How do you manage a family of 7, run your businesses, stay in shape and look like you're having fun doing it?"

It's true, finding time for true balance in work and in life is a challenge for any entrepreneur or busy Early to Rise reader. Do I have it all figured out? No, of course not, but I am able to manage certain aspects of my life to make sure that my business steadily grows each year and that I maintain and grow the relationship that I have with my wife and kids.

If you're struggling to find that balance, then maybe you can get something out of these tips that I can offer you as an Entrepreneurial-Business-Owning-Coach-Husband-and-Father-of-Five-Who-Home-Schools-His-Kids-And-Stays-In-Great-Shape-All-While-Still-Having-Time-To-Have-A-Once-Per-Week-Date-Night-With-His-Wife (how's that for a "title"?).

1) Manage Daily Transitions with Routines

There are 2 major transitions in my daily life. The first is the transition from sleeping to working and writing, and the second is the transition from work-mode to family-mode.

My morning ritual after my alarm goes off at 4:57am is to head downstairs to turn off the alarm, fill a tea kettle, drink 2 glasses of fresh water and go through a brief bodyweight exercise routine to increase blood flow. After the exercises, I brew my favorite jasmine green tea, turn on my computer and spend the next two hours writing and completing one or two of my "Most Important Tasks" (MITs).

When it's time for my day to wrap up, I summarize my day in my notebook, write down the 3 MITs that need to be accomplished the next day and then listen to a meditation program for 30 minutes.

These rituals that I perform on a daily basis sub-consciously tell my mind what "mode" to be in and has been an incredible way for me to focus on what's important.

2) Work in Bursts and then Rewarding Yourself

I find that I get so much more done when I'm focused on one task rather than multi-tasking. If I see a task on my list through to its completion, it's less likely to linger in my mind as something that "I have to get back to".

For motivation, it's often that I'll give myself a small reward if I see something through to completion.

3) Stop When It's Time to Stop

If you're an entrepreneur, then there isn't a time of day when you're not thinking about your business. The downfall to that is that you may sometimes miss out on the finer moments of life because you may be physically "there", but you're just not present.

I'm as guilty of this as anyone else who runs their own business but is also devoted to their family.

Countless times I see people at the dinner table who refuse to put down their Blackberry or insist on answering the phone. Unless you're looking for a one-way trip to the doghouse, then you need to put the phone down and listen to and engage with your spouse while they talk about their day.

In order for me to make sure that my family has my undivided attention, not only have I established the transition routine above in Strategy #1, but I will also limit any type of access to me from the outside world.

Email notifications are turned off, the phone is not answered and more often than not, we unplug the modem and the Internet is off completely. If I do end up coming up with a brilliant idea while I'm in family-mode (which happens a lot), I pull out my pocket notebook and jot the idea down and then let it go knowing that I've got it in my pocket when I need to get to it.

4) You MUST Exercise

Maybe I'm a little biased because I work in the fitness industry, but if there was one strategy that has allowed me to really have enough energy for and to be purposefully engaged in both my business and my personal life, it's exercise.

It's a myth that it requires two hours of time per day to exercise and stay lean and healthy. In fact, these days my workouts last no longer than 30 minutes using a combination of kettlebell and bodyweight exercises in my living room or backyard.

Looking the part is a critical element of my fitness business, but I'm starting to realize that it's a critical element of me being a good father as well.

Exercise allows me to only have enough energy not only to keep up with my kids at the end of the day, but it sets an example to my kids to make their health a priority in their lives.

My habits in the gym - of hard work, perseverance and determination - are carried over into my business and family life and are habits that I hope to pass on to my four daughters and son through example.

All in all, my double-life as a business owner and entrepreneur and as a father/husband isn't all that different than yours. We both need to find the right strategies to ensure that we are successful and find balance in every aspect of our lives.

The important thing to remember is that self-discipline is the key to forming good habits and strategies to ensure success in business and in life.

Adopting one or all of the strategies above, slowly, in a step-by-step manner has worked wonders for me and has made enjoy myself in my business dealings and has allowed me to forge a strong relationship with my loved ones.

In my life, I feel that I CAN have it all. Thanks to the strategies above,

I'm making my dream a reality.

Live Your Life Today as...

A note to my friend A.J...

Halo A.J,
Do you live your life now as how you really want to live in this precious moment?

As it is well known, we all have specific ways we use every day on how we like to live our lives, but as it turn out, most times the main problem is that most of us do not make the definite decision to start living our lives in the way we really want right now... correct?

Hey AJ, do you agree? Are you with me?

How many times you found your self dreaming about how you would like to live, but then your just dismiss it and don’t take any necessary steps to achieve the lifestyle you desired.

Living a life-style you want, allows you to create the results you really, really want.

Live it as you were already successful… Go ahead and hang around with with people who can support you. Go ahead and start thinking all about your successful lifestyle.  Go ahead and do on a daily basis everything that make you fell great…

Just think about it... it makes perfect sense for you to start doing those things right now. this moment… and ultimately you will be living the desired lifestyle you always wanted to live.

Lazing around all day will not get you closer to your dream lifestyle... so go ahead, create it.

Create results according to the lifestyle of your dream. When you want to fully enjoy life, work with passion, love what you do, love your self, your family and friends as you never loved them before… go ahead, do it now and never stop.

Waiting for ever does not bring you closer to your dreams... design your life as you really want and start living your perfect lifestyle right now.

Here is a short exercise for you:

1_ Meditate about your perfect and ideal day…

Start from when you wake up, how do you like to feel?
Who do you like to connect, vibrate with?
Who do you want to be involved with today that is as passionate as you are?
What type of hobby do you have in mind to work on day?
What is that wholly stimulates your mind, body and spirit today?
Project exactly how you feel in the evening when you go to sleep, How do you feel?

Go ahead, practice your daily lifestyle and create it every single day.

Live the life of your dream, do it right now… Today…!

All the best from,

nick c. your trusted friend.

A must see: You'll love this fabulous documentary premiering at the
Toronto Independent Film Festival (not to be confused with the Toronto
International Film Festival - TIFF - running concurrently).

Titled "Vegucated" (http://www.getvegucated.com/
), the film follows three meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who
agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks. There’s Brian, the
bacon-loving bachelor who eats out all the time, Ellen, the single mom
who prefers comedy to cooking, and Tesla, the college student who
avoids vegetables and bans beans. They have no idea that so much more
than steak is at stake and that the fate of the world may fall on
their plates. Lured with true tales of weight lost and health
regained, they begin to uncover hidden sides of animal agriculture and
soon start to wonder whether solutions offered in films like Food,
Inc. go far enough. Before long, they find themselves risking
everything to expose an industry they supported just weeks before.

Advanced reviews bill this as "hilarious", "informative",
"educational"...here's a sample:

"I love this film. Not only does it cover the hows and whys of
healthy, humane eating, but it captures the OMGs and WTFs of the
transformation process. A must-see!" - Rory Freedman, author of Skinny
Bitch

If you're in the Toronto area, make a point of seeing it - one night
only - this Saturday, Sept. 10 at 9:30 pm, Underground Cinema
(Queen/Spadina)

Festival in North America - and of course, lots of free food samples -

Also, here's a fabulous event summary from my fellow veg promoter
extraordinaire, Olga, titled "Vegetarian Food Festival - 3 Reasons for
Non-Vegetarians to check it out"

Have a very veggie weekend :-)

Victory

You are the Man who used to boast
that you'd achieve the uttermost,
some day.

You merely wished to show,
to demonstrate how much you know
and prove the distance you can go..

Another year we've just passed through.
What new ideas came to you?
How many big things did you do?

Time left twelve fresh months in your care
how many of them did you share
with opportunity and dare
again where you so often missed?

We do not find you on the list of makers good.
explain the fact!
Ah No, 'Twas not the chance you lacked!
As usual - you failed to act!
